The Crucible Girl Gear Project and Edna Brewer Middle School Fall 2013

     Hello Edna Brewer Families,
I am happy to announce that The Crucible (www.thecrucible.org) was granted funding for 12 girls from Edna Brewer Middle School to participate in their Girl Gear Project. The 12 girls will learn basic welding and torch-cutting skills while exploring themes such as self-reflection, ideas of super heroes, and identity through sculpture.
The dates for the project are: October 2, 9, 16, 23 and November 6, 13 on Wednesday afternoons from 2:00–5:00 PM.
All 6th, 7th, and 8th grade girls are invited to fill out an application and hand in their application at the main office. The girls who are chosen will be contacted by email or phone by September 25, 2013.
Kathy deRosas will be on the Edna Brewer Middle School campus on September 10th and 11th during lunch period to hand out the application and release forms.
This is an opportunity for a chance to learn new skills and share in an experience that the girls will never forget. If you have any questions please contact me at kathyderosas@gmail.com.

After School Pick-up
     Hello Panther Parents,
To make after school pick-up safer and more efficient, please pick your student up accordingly:

6th grade: Exit from Front Door, parents pick up in the front of school.
7th grade: Exit from Excelsior Gate, parents pick up on Excelsior.
8th grade: Exit from E. 38th Street Gate, parents pick up on E. 38th.
Families with multiple grade levels, choose one side most convenient for your family.
Teachers will be reminding students of these exits points. Please discuss as a family in order to minimize confusion and traffic congestion.
Thank you for your support in helping Brewer run smoothly.
     GO PANTHERS!!
